Product Review..."Easy Walk" Harness
65I recently started volunteering at our local animal shelter (SPCA) and this is where I was introduced to the "Easy Walk" harness. This is the preferred harness at the shelter and upon using one for the first time, I could see why. It works differently than the traditional harness as the leash attaches to the chest strap and when a dog pulls or applies pressure, the harness gives a gentle tug to the side, which applies slight pressure to the chest and top of the shoulder blades, which automatically makes the dog do alot less pulling. Many of the dogs at the shelter would be very difficult to walk if it werent for this nifty harness! This is the ONLY harness I will use while walking the dogs there as it makes the walk much more enjoyable for the dogs AND myself! Also, so there is no confusion how to put the harness on, they have a difference in color of one of the straps so you know exactly what end is what! This was very helpful to me and after being showed one time how to put one on, I was able to do it myself immediately. There is a strap over the shoulder blades, a strap on the underside of the dog behind the front legs and a strap across the chest (this is where the leash attaches).
In conclusion, if you have a dog that has a tendency to pull while walking, this is a great harness to purchase. It does not seem to cause any discomfort and it gives you the control you need to securely walk your dog, giving both of you a much more pleasurable walking experience together!

Great informative hub, and you really are a very good person erthfrend! Hope you have a Merry Christmas, and stop on by the Stinky hub for the latest, where Stinky gives everyone a Christmas present.
It looks like a great tool for a big dog. We fostered a yellow lab last year that followed my kids home from school. It would have been good to have it because he was a sled dog at heart.
...well you always harness me in by your lovely hubs and of course your lovely personality too - Mister Gabriel wears a body harness with pride like a small dog but he is a deaf white cat and such a friendly big boy who is quite the ladies' man and natural charmer.
He waits eagerly for me to get his leash so he can go outside for a walk .... lol lol - imagine that - a cat!!!
I just loved your picture - yes it came through - what a photographic miracle that was - your dog and cat sleeping together - now if the whole world could get along this way ........
Hi E-Friend, I can attest to the usefulness of that harness. Yes, ghomefitness, a yellow lab loves it and pulls me up the hill with it and doesn't mind when I stop her from trying to jump up and hug little old ladies by tugging on it. Of course Marley would have dragged little erthfriend across the beach with it and had a wonderful time doing it. Thanks EF. =:)
Erthfrend as you work at your local spca, Can you tell me that is there a harness for cats? If it's there, Can you tell me where can i get it because i want 2. One for zoey and one for nightingale.
We had one of those on Griff when he was a puppy and it did really help. Unfortunately with malamutes, they figure out quite early how to use their weight to your disadvantage! Sometimes I put on a gentle choker with him just to remind him that he's not supposed to take me for a pavement carpet ride!
ROGER THAT erthfrend. LOL!
The Easy Walk Harness caused sores in the right "armpit" of our 14# Cairn Terrier where the shoulder strap and belly strap connect. We Had to stop using it.

Do they have any of these things for a very large guy in a wheelchair? Of course, that means someone leading me by a leash. While I've never tried it, I don't think it's me.
